There are truly some amazing people in this world. Some that can take a bad time or event, their difficult personal experiences and shine some empathy on others in the world. Those are great people, but for us, in the line of work we are in there are those that take it one step further and use their musical talents to make sense of these dreadful things and that is exactly what the United States, Rutherford artist Michael Peloso has done with their latest release Rewind (feat. Marisa Frantz & Matthew Shell).
This hauntingly beautiful track was written after Michael had watched the Texas shootings and put pen to paper to vocalise the longing to turn back the clock to a better time when tragedies occur.
The beautiful vocals that deliver the message will leave an imprint on your mind, while the gorgeous guitar-heavy backing track twinkles gently behind, providing a level of warmth to the emotive piece. When we then hear the subtle crashing of cymbals, that unless you consciously listen to them would be easily missed, and the deep bass drum that ever so slightly appears at segments we are transported to a place that is equally tranquil and intense. It almost reinforces the need for a wish of reversal to come true.
As the track switches up, we really can close our eyes and hear the power change that seems to emulate the sadness and realisation that it is not possible to reverse time, but instead, we can only wish it to be so.
Upon the tracks fade out, we are again introduced to a twinkling that could be seen as the magic we all hope for in those dark times. Everything about this track is meticulous and very much adds to the sentiment. It is all so subtle and important that we are left in a dream-like state wanting more.
Michael really has created something magical here that is relatable to all, from something horrific in nature. We really can’t wait to see where this artist goes next, which based on our insider information shouldn’t take us too long to find out!
