Spotlight Release Review | Allee – Tell Me What It’s Like Up There ft. Alfred Nomad
United States, Los Angeles
The first week of 2023 has been nothing short of great for me with all the amazing releases we have been able to find, the latest from the United States, Los Angeles artist Allee being one of them. The introduction of a new year always brings questions for me many questions about those that are no longer here, what would they be doing, who would they be now, who would I be with them in my world and more importantly where I am going. The problem with all of these thoughts and emotions? Being able to put them into words, but that is where ‘Tell Me What It’s Like Up There ft. Alfred Nomad’ comes in.
This amazing collaboration is two people crashing together in an explosion of talent that takes listeners on a journey of emotion that will leave you with goosebumps all over. With a simple beat, which dominates the backing providing a rock feel and some gorgeous melodic electric guitar strumming around twinkling keys it is evident there is no room for mediocrity here.
But then we hit the vocals, beginning with Allee, for anyone that may know Kate Mcgill, this is the epitome of the style of talent and track she holds, but with a dark twist. Allee has the ability to hold a room in the palm of her hand with her catchy hooks and dark but still providing a devil-may-care style of delivery.
This is accompanied perfectly by the gorgeous flows of Alfred Nomad, where a story is crafted and all our thoughts have been put to a beat for us to rap along to. The lyrics encompass perfectly how I believe we all feel when we lose someone we love, but still yearn for their support and guidance when the world gets tough.
Everything about this amazing track screams you are not alone and with how things are in society at the moment we need that. Really looking forward to seeing what comes next for this epic pair.
