Our latest amazing find hails from Cleveland, OH. Marcus Smith has blessed us all with their latest release “Day After Day” which is a captivating and soulful, high spirit piece of music that showcases his talents as both a vocalist and a songwriter. The track is a high-tempo magnificent piece that deals with the theme of a father’s advice, something I am sure at times we all need, to remind you that: “You’re always moving forward, day after day after day after day.”

The track begins with a mellow guitar riff that sets the tone for the song. Smith’s vocals enter soon after, which are filled out with his own father, giving the authentic feel to the advice and delivering a heartfelt performance that perfectly captures the emotions of the lyrics. As the track continues and the rap kicks in it is clear to see his voice is rich and smooth, and he effortlessly captures your soul with raw and authentic energy.

Co-written with his younger brother the lyrics themselves are simple yet effective, “I used to be a little bit taller, I never was a baller” (the nod to Skee-Lo noticeable!) conveying a feeling we all go through at some point, where we realise, we may not exactly meet the mark, but Smith fast reminds us this does not matter in the slightest.

Musically, the track is well-crafted, with tasteful instrumentation that complements Smith’s vocals without overpowering them. The drums, bass, and strings all contribute to the song’s emotional intensity, adding layers of depth and texture to the arrangement.

“Day After Day” is a beautifully crafted song that showcases Marcus Smith’s talents as both a singer and a songwriter. It’s a poignant and relatable piece of music that will have you ignoring the dramas of life and pushing through like they’re nothing!
