Spotlight Release Review | Narcissus- A sense of place
United Kingdom, Manchester

This week we have been lucky enough to get the preview to a great ten-track release from the awesome Narcissus. This Mancunian three-piece have come together once again to share some mind-melting, face-tingling, soul tantalising tracks! Harnessing some glorious classical electronic sounds, combined with extremely playful beats this ten-track set is never going to disappoint.
Touching on a variety of genres from pop to rock through to the obvious dance and 90s to name a few, while featuring some epic vocals, catchy lyrics, and a huge variety of experimental soundscapes ‘a sense of place’ has something to offer for all.
Keeping an upbeat vibe throughout this number of tracks without losing the interest of the listener is nothing but pure talent and this release has done just that. The highs, the lows, the fast, the slow this has it all and more.
I really found myself trying to control the urge to dance in public while this is playing in my headphones, but my favourite moment was at the gym getting a run on watching in the mirror to see if people can tell I’m running to an absolute BANGER! Be next to jump on the bandwagon because it is definitely not one to miss!
The best thing about Narcissus for me is the fact they take music back to what it should be with signed white and black vinyl editions of the album as well as CD with 5 bonus tracks being available today from 42’s records online store or a select few independent stores. If you prefer digital versions they’re available from Friday the 28th of October 2022. There will also be an intimate album launch gig event hosted by Wax & Beans record store, Bury, on release day, Friday 21st October at 7pm.
