Spotlight Release Review | Signal Static- Objects Of Affection

Read Time:1 Minute, 45 Second

Canada, Victoria, BC

The rock world crashed out of 2022 with style and finesse, with one of the epic bands that helped achieve that reputation being Canada, Victoria, BC’s own Signal Static.

Drawing their inspiration from the likes of Chevelle, Tool, Muse, Queens of the Stoneage, and Pendulum, Signal Static pulls together some of the greatest elements of music, be that punk, hard rock, metal, grunge and even a sprinkling of electro to create a unique, catchy and undeniably mind melting plethora of sounds.

Don’t believe me? Well, have a listen to their latest release ‘Objects of Affection’ and find out for yourself. This is an all-in track that addresses predators and their abuse of power, need to control and total domination. It is an anthem that stands behind survivors sending a very important, clear and unwavering message of solidarity delivered with a catchy style.

With explosive drums that offer build-ups of increasing anticipation, and rhythmic guitars that feature some face-melting leads the backing of this track really lets the listener experience everything the band has to offer.

Combine this with the vocals that provide a raw, raspy and authoritative delivery to accompany those all-important lyrics, providing the message that needs to be heard by the masses and we have an angst-filled track ready to change the world.

But let’s not forget where many indie bands fall down, the production, well that is certainly not the case for Signal Static, in fact with this track they have excelled in this area. It is completed with the crisp sound and mix we expect from a radio-ready track which really does extenuate the view of talent we get the experience as listeners stimulating every possible one of our senses.

These guys are really coming up (as they should) and should be heard before they go mainstream so you can boast about how you found them first.
