Spotlight EP Release Review | Blueprint – Tokyo Cinema Sounds
United States, Oklahoma City
What is better than a day of finding fresh new talent? Finding it within the first 5 minutes and spending the rest of the day knowing there is no point ruining the day by listening to anything else. Well, here we have Blueprint Tokyo, the Oklahoma City, United States duo bringing awesome music to the masses in the form of their latest EP drop ‘Cinema Sounds.’
What makes this three-track EP so amazing is its ability to gain and hold your attention from the very beginning! Featuring so glorious choppy synths, intense drum segments, and awesome anticipation-building guitars topped off with the surrounding of explosive vocal excellence which offers an amazing balance between gritty rock and softer almost pop-like sections!
Taking advantage of the amazingly catchy lyrics and chants that can often be found within 80s-style indie rock, Blueprint Tokyo has certainly nailed the crowd participation abilities here, couple this with some of the amazing sounds introduced out of the norm, such as the saxophone sounds in ‘Sailor girl’, we are left wondering where this duo has been all our lives.
No part of this EP leaves you feeling like you are missing something, from the high-level elements, such as lyrics through to the low-level production and genre mixing that seems to be taking place, everything has been delivered with an undeniable care and level of unwavering attention.
