Spotlight Release Review | Brit Fox- DIY
United States, Cleveland
In the line of work, we are in, introducing and reviewing artists, it is always amazing when we are able to get an insight into the raw talent that artists have to offer. Well, that is what I have been able to experience thanks to Brit Fox and their latest release ‘DIY’.
This United States, Cleveland talent brought to use two variations of this amazing track, one in its pure raw glory and one that is polished and radio-ready both are amazing, both allowing listeners to immerse themselves in the full experience on offer, but both offering a very different insight into what Brit can really achieve.
Overall, both tracks offer a beautiful deep bass which has speakers bouncing out of their casing or the car vibrating, coupled with magnificent claps adding a sense of familiarity that we require from most RnB tracks, that has you bopping along in no time. There is a subtle synth in the backing, which only comes out to the forefront at the end of the track, but is extremely important for the melodic flow of the piece.
Then we move on to the lyrics, full of catchy hooks and epic one-liners that become earworms before you know it. I certainly found myself singing it while walking around the house from the first listen. But that also helped to become the case as a result of the awesome vocals Brit has to offer.
As mentioned before this is where the versions of the tracks can differ. In the “A” side or studio version, this track is clean, produced t perfection and offers the beautifully tuned vocals of a radio-ready, polished track.
But my favourite is the “B” side. This is the side that shows exactly what Brit can do. This adds a great view of what Brit wanted to achieve when she first wrote the piece, via a voice note may I add. Giving fans a very good appreciation of the creative process.
Being an all-rounder (producer, songwriter, audio engineer, music supervisor and vocalist) Brit really is a talent to keep an eye on!
