Number 1

Destiny Imani – Outta My Mind – United States, Los Angeles


First in our rundown is Los Angeles artist Destiny Imani and their track ‘Outta my mind’. This amazing track released on the 14th of October harnesses some beautifully smooth vocals. This track contains a beautifully crafted cross-over backing track which leaves this amazing release straddling the line between pop and RnB. The hip-hop/RnB beats with the electronic pop guitar and piano overlay leaves this a great one to hit a large number of people’s tastes with very little effort. Discussing the topic of infatuation and how that can leave thinking of them 24/7. The electronic pop vibe is an enjoyable easy-listen and one to have on your chill-out playlist.

Matt Landi – Frankensteins – Australia, Sydney  


Next up we have an artist that has already built a great presence and a loyal fan base. Australian-based Matt Landi on the 14th of October released their track ‘Frankensteins.’ This epic release is an experience for the senses, with some glorious Jazz influences, combined with gorgeous synths and dance beats, this amazing track combines sounds you’d never even think would work together. With unique vocals and delivery that includes a roller coaster of highs and lows, it matches the topic of obscurity perfectly and effortlessly. It has been said before and it will be said again 2022 has been a great year for music and Matt is another example of this.

Kelsey Blackstone – My Superstitions – United States, Boston  


Boston is a crazy place for those of us that don’t live there because the talent that has come from that place leaves you wondering if there is something in the water. From Aerosmith to Boys like girls, there is an abundance of great discoveries, which leads us onto one of the next talents to hail from the waters of Boson, Kelsey Blackstone, with their track ‘My Superstitions’. Another one was released on the 14th of October, this release is a soulful piece combined with the standard pop offerings. It almost has a 90s vibe to it, with its catchy beat, clean vocals, and amazing saxophone introductions, this track has the ability to become huge! What an amazing discovery, don’t miss being one of the first to hear this piece.   


Number 4

Daisy Gill – New York State Of Mind – United Kingdom, Liverpool  


We bring it back to the land of the Beatles for this one. Liverpool-based artist Daisy Gill has blessed us all with the amazing high-energy track ‘New York State Of Mind’. The topic certainly resonates with any and all that have contemplated revenge for their broken hearts and the changes they made to that ‘love’. With its catchy piano-heavy chorus this one is easily picked up and easy to sing along to. But what is much more notable is the beautiful vocal ability of Daisy, some of those runs are so smooth and soothing for the brain, that right there is reason enough to listen and enjoy this track.

Future.exboyfriend -Should’ve Loved You More – United States, Salt Lake City, Utah  


Next up we have a set of talent to share with you that really does need to be heard and appreciated. This Salt Lake City three-piece, Future.exboyfriend has released their third track, ‘Should’ve Loved You More’, from their latest album High at the gym. This electric track will have you up and moving from beat number one. It has a great hint of 80s influence potentially as a result of the psychedelic feel. The dreamy beautiful vocals and expert production leave this track to be the perfect addition to the memories with friends’ playlist! Being another 14th of October release, this is another amazing one to get to before your friends are able to say you introduced them to it first!

Lorana – Pull Me Back To The Present – United Kingdom, London  


For the next inclusion in this week’s top ten we have London artist Lorana and their latest release ‘Pull me back to present.’ This self-produced, completely independent track has certainly shocked me with the quality of this piece. One that resonates with all those, like me, that overthink constantly, this track struck a nerve. With its beautiful soothing beats, unique sounds and amazing wordplay this track puts something into words we regularly can’t and does so with pure style and enjoyment. If you don’t want to feel alone and have something to explain your brain, this is the one for you!

Ariel Rose – Tonight Contigo – United States, Miami  


Changing things up a little with this one. The Miami artist Ariel Rose has released an amazing track radio-ready and club-worthy. ‘Tonight Contigo’ is a great commercial Latin pop piece, perfect for the wants of the market at this time. With danceable beats, catchy lyrics, and glorious vocal abilities, it’s certainly one you’ll be playing as you clean the house, using your boom to pretend you can salsa. Since being released this track has made some waves, discussing the topic of women’s reluctance to settle down and keeping the heart protected, this is an upbeat track that can resonate well with anyone.

Evie Balfe – Toxicity – United Kingdom, London  


Number 8 on this week’s list is London-based artist Evie Balfe. This Lincolnshire-born singer-songwriter has been making some amazing music that has been catching the attention of some big players with this latest release set to do the same. ‘Toxicity’ is a beautiful electronic dream pop piece. Evie’s vocals carry this amazing track, they are so peaceful and soothing for the listener, with Evie’s vocal abilities being made obvious to anyone that hears them. With self-esteem and identity being the focal influences for the song’s topic, this track is a great push to ‘break the cycle’ and change what needs to be changed. Get listening to your new favourite artist!

IRJA – Foot in the Door – United Kingdom, London  


As we near the end of this week’s list, we reach the Swiss electronic duo that goes by the name of Irja. Being London based, this duo has come together and filled the airwaves with amazing tracks which take the listener on a journey through amazing soundscapes, with their latest release ‘Foot in the door’ being no different. This calm electronic piece harnesses some dreamy almost extra-terrestrial sounds, that place the listener into an almost trance-like state! This is such a unique offering that really needs to be heard to be appreciated.   


Number 10

Flossy Jones – Could This Be Happiness – United Kingdom, Brighton  


Have you ever been in a position where you are surrounded by your favourite people and have every reason to be stressed or unhappy but just can’t be!? This week’s final pop ten, Flossy Jones, has experienced just that, putting pen to paper and writing a masterpiece explaining the feeling in that very moment. ‘Could this be happiness’ is the latest release from the Brighton artist consisting of great storytelling abilities, beautiful dreamy vocals, and a simple backing track, maintained by a simple guitar progression, that should be heard by all. Flossy has a Lana Del Rey vibe going on that can only be carried by the most talented artists, given the big shoes to fill. Flossy is amazing and should really be proud of what she has created here!
