Spotlight Release Review | Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends- No Sweet Dreams

Read Time:1 Minute, 50 Second

Sweden, Stockholm

There is nothing we love more than the wacky and the wonderful so you can really imagine when we saw the name for our latest find, Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends, we were intrigued and hooked.

What we always believe is if something is a little wacky, chances are it is going to be one of the best and after listening to this Sweden, Stockholm Alien Friend’s solo project it is clear the belief is still accurate.

Alien Friend would normally be creating amazing music with Swedish band Redmoon, but with their latest release ‘No Sweet Dreams’ they decided they would enjoy a spot of moonlighting as a solo artist, and honestly, we are glad they did.

We have been introduced to the talent they have to offer featuring some epic 90’s rock guitars, gorgeously up-tempo drums backing, and glorious use of a simple power pop rhythm. This flows beautifully as synths weave in between the combination of sounds. All of this is packaged neatly to offer a backing track to some amazing, deep, clear and pleasing vocals which contain some very enjoyable harmonies.

This is delivered with a style with brings about a level of intense anticipation as the story progresses we as listeners feel a great sense of urgency, which is a great view of the talent this artist has to convey and control a room’s emotion. The lyrics are almost in contrast to the up-tempo drums previously mentioned as they seem to be telling a tale of fight and less than favourable times, but again this aids in creating the sense of unease, adding further depth to the track.

But a big note to add, apart from multitalented co-producer David Myhr who plays several instruments on many tracks – and shares lead vocals on some of them – the friends in REDMOON must be mentioned: Daniel Lagerlöf, Åke Lindgren and Johan Lundström.

This is an amazing release that needs to be fully appreciated, we are really excited to see where this goes next!
