Australia, Brunswick East

When artists reinvent themselves and change their genre or art form it is often noticeable that this is not what they do, this is not their forte and sometimes it can be a little awkward, but that is not the case for Jack.G. This amazing Australia, Brunswick East talent has been able to establish themselves as DJ providing us all with the greatest in electro synth pop and has now flipped the script and offered us something completely different.

This latest single, which comes from their debut EP as the artist Jack.G, provides a deep emotional insight into the artist and more so their capability, flexibility and versatility. ‘Put Through’ is described as being “a tale of sorrow, fear, reflection and pure expression of the complexity of love mired with doubt, arriving at closure and healing from these turbulent experiences. This mournfully ebullient song is an elegy to the darkness in our lives.”

This is certainly evidenced when listening to this track. Fading in with twinkle synths, this track has an eerie air about it from the jump. This fast transpires into a deep double bass beat, which for any ballad-style track is extremely necessary. This becomes the main formation of the back, with the synth dipping in and out and varying in complexity. But the vocals really make this track. Those dark deep and emotive vocals, offer the listener a vast amount of depth to the track and allow us to really stay in the space Jack.G is operating from, which very much offers up an 80’s flair. The catchy, repetitive lyrics are something to be admired. Although simple they offer so many applications, allowing this to be a track understood and appreciated by a wide variety of people, from different walks, going through different things in their lives.

This is truly a testament to this amazing creation. Not only has Jack.G reinvented himself but he has made it clear his talent is available to contend with the best of them.
