2 LIBRAS – Infected – United States, Seattle – Release 18/10/22

Kicking off this week we have 2 Libras and a Seattle, United States duo, turn four-piece when playing live, that utilises some super clean 80s dance style beats to draw us into their latest release ‘Infected’. This track provides epic synths following the nostalgic 80s style but certainly maintains a modern twist, while also keeping our focus with some dreamy vocals.

This extremely relevant piece provides us with an important message of social media’s influence on the world and how it is designed to keep us down yet addicted, despite its negativity. 2 Libras have taken a big topic and introduced us to it with a dark pop feel in keeping with this current day/season!

Number 3

Rustyn – Darkness (feat. undy) – Australia, Sydney – Release 28/10/22

The next talented piece to grace our list is a collaboration between the awesome Australian songwriter/producer Rustyn and Nashville-based songwriter/vocalist Undy. This collaboration coming together was a requirement for the music world, given how amazing the creation that has come from it is! ‘Darkness’ is the latest track released and it is safe to say we have one ready to blow up.

The vocals on this track are outrageously dreamy but still remain authoritative to maintain the topic’s importance of the feminine grit to persevere! These vocals, delivering super catchy lyrics, are placed over a rollercoaster of a track featuring intense build-ups, fully intrusive synths, and heavy cymbal use which when combined leaves you unable to forget this track.

Number 4 on this week’s Halloween special is Austrian artist Sinikka. Wow ow wow is this artist talented? The vocal range while maintaining smooth vocals in their latest track ‘Dead end’ is something that deserves respect!

With a dead behind-the-eyes style delivery, given the topic of betrayal, this piece will hit every aspect of your soul! From the dreamy choir-like introduction through to the fast heavy beat drop-in and palmed guitar strum, this track has every element required to get in your feels and shout this from the rooftops! Another amazing track that features catchy lyrics, but the added raw emotional element makes this a glorious one to have added to this week’s run down.

Number 5

Earth to Eve – Atheist in Theory – United States, Los Angeles – Release 21/10/22

As we reach our mid-point we have another amazing Los Angeles talent in the form of Earth to Eve. This latest release discusses a topic I would never have been able to admit to myself or maybe even put into words, but Earth to Eve has done just this with ‘Atheist in theory’. Discussing the helplessness when things seem to get too difficult just hoping for something more divine is an intelligently created piece that could really make you think.

This beautiful track features a simple backing track, of piano chords, through the verses which add hauntingly beautiful intensity. This is followed by the hook and chorus which is introduced with the slow build-up of a guitar before eventually we are introduced to a small drum segment. With catchy lyrics and glorious vocals, we are the listeners’ attention is captured in its entirety, with there being no release until the end of the track!

These are fully introduced to us with their latest release ‘Haunting me.’ This dreamy, mellow track features some beautifully intense guitar playing, which runs throughout while intermittent drums weave in between its gentle plucking. All of this frames Maria’s vocals, which provide us with a range beyond belief, note holds that could leave you in a state of mindfulness and awe as you go on a journey of pure, raw emotion through the idea of love, loss, and relationship issues.

Number 9

HENRY J – Kármán – United States, Los Angeles – Release 14/10/22

As we reach the penultimate, we hit a track that would cause a lot of excitement within the UK given its drum and bass feel. Artist Henry J has released something that we are sure we will all agree is an absolute banger of a track. With gorgeous snares and kicks, coupled with high synth usage this track will take you on a wild ride of emotions. From the calm, slow introduction through to the last note the soundscape of this track is like no other. All of this is only the beginning of the skill of this track, the vocals and lyrics are the main focal point here. Being deep, dreamy, distorted, and ever-changing tempo, these vocals keep you listening to what this artist has to share which is extremely important when you consider the topic, of anxiety that comes with the pursuit of greatness.

When you consider this and pair it with the backing track you find this entire track is one humongous oxymoron. With the larger-than-life backing track, dreamy style vocals, and beautifully crafted lyrics and delivery, you can’t help but want to praise Henry J for the talent that is so clear to see through this latest release Kármán.
